Uniquely Singaporean lah

This post bakalan mengupas apa yg membuat Singapore, …. Singapore.. hehe.
Very informative bagi para pembaca yg ga pernah dateng or tidak pernah tinggal disini.

1. Of coz, Singlish.

Apa itu Singlish?

Lah, lor, leh, .. itu seperti donk, deh in bahasa Indonesia. Pokoknya English yg dicampur aduk with chinese or malay.

I kinda love Singlish loh, karena it makes a lot of things easier and faster.

Scene: Calling Spore immigration
Gue: Hi, I’m calling regarding application for bla bla bla (using proper English)
Immigration: Oh, ok madam, just hold on for a second… can?
Gue: Oh sureeee, can… can…

Scene: Foodcourt
Gue: Auntie ahhh,  one wantan noodle, take away.
Auntie: Wan chili anot?… (translation: do u want chilli or not?)
Gue: Wan… (translation: yes, i do)

Singlish make life simpler.

Coba liat video dibawah ini.

Chimglish = Sporeans use the word ‘chim/cheem’ to describe things that are very2 deep in meaning.

Example:
Eugene: You know ci, when we work out, our muscles are … *insert biological term here*, then if we keep doing it, the muscles area will .. *insert biological term here*, and it will make our blood pressure and red blood vessels to …*insert another biological term here*
Gue: Hueh? Haiyoooh, so chim one lah youuuuuu…. (translation: Aduh, loe ini dalem skali ya? Gue ga ngerti sama skali loe ngomong apaan loh.. )

Wakakakakka, I love u , gene 😀

So, to make it even clearer, silakan nonton video dibawah ini.

See, that’s why Singlish is so important.

2. Tissue choping.

Ini definitely can be found only in Spore.

Apa itu tissue choping?

It is where people put their tissue packet to reserve a seat in the food court. So they ‘chop’ the seat while mereka pegi beli makan.

Like this.

tissue

Temen gue orang Indo kan ga tau soal ini. Dia baru dateng kerja disini, and one day he went to eat lunch, and pas di foodcourt ya dia duduk aja ditempet yg ada tissuenya gitu. Kirain lumayan dikasih tissue gratis kali. Kan karena kebanyakan di Foodcourt Singapore, mereka ga provide tissue at all. Nah pas dia lagi asik2 makan, eh disamperin ama orang yg ngomel2in dia karena temen gue itu ambil spotnya. Sampe bengong dia karena diomelin HAEuhAUEhaEA.

So karena banyak foreigners yg ga ngerti this ‘unwritten Spore law’ and to prevent this from happening again, Singaporeans move a step forward by producing this kind of tissue…

Clear enuf??

Wakakkakaka. So kiasu bener. 😛

3. Kiasu-ism & Kepo-ism

Kiasu = Always have to be the first in everything.
Most recent example is… Singapore udah put up Christmas decorations in Orchard Road since October. Di bus, udah ada tulisannya ‘Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’

Kepo = Wanting to know everything, alias busybody.

4. Duren.

I think Spore is the only country where duren is probihited in several places.  Biasanya sih ga boleh dibawa ke MRT and buses.

The only country dimana saat loe bawa2 durian, loe bakal didenda $500

duren

Come on, duren is one of the heavenly food on earth.

Question to Budi and Jafeto:
Kalo di surga ada duren, loe ga  jadi masuk surga, man?
HEuhAUEhAUEhuAHEAE.

5. Hand-dryer di toilet.

Do you feel bored, looking at the same white tile or wall while drying your hands? Wish you can look at something else?

Bored no more!!!!! Singapore has innovated a very hip and happening hand-dryer.

drier

Now it comes with a small tv screen!!!
UWOWWW…
Hand-drying will never feel the same again!

6. Complaints.

Denger2 Singapore suka banyak yg complain2… hehehe. Maybe it’s true maybe it’s not, but Spore does have a site where people can lodge in their complaints. From serious matter like Tiger Airways improper conduct, sampe hal2 seperti, seorang cewe poto2 pake baju army cowonya and diupload, and seorang cowo pake baju cewe di MRT.

Bener2 ‘interesting’ website. Click on the links above to see it.

7. Bus stop

Yg ini gue sangat sangat suka banget. I’m still so amazed at the technology.

Some bus stops di some major roads ada this thing.
.
.

bus

.
.
Disitu kita bisa liat bus number and berapa menit lagi nyampe ke bus stop tersebut. When you see ‘Arr’, it means the bus is arriving very very soon, so you better don’t go anywhere.

Very very smart. I dunno how they do it. Is it like every bus dikasih chip or apaan gitu? .. timingnya bisa pas bgt.

Ini sih ga bakalan bisa berlaku di Jakarta ya? wkakakakakka. 😛

The video below sums up almost everything about Singapore. Worth a look… kekekekke

I ❤ Singapore! 😀
